SHOET....
WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: SHOET
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: The “Shoet Assignment” is an important foundational photography exercise because it teaches students how to see creatively using a simple, everyday object. By photographing the same pair of shoes from multiple perspectives, students learn that compelling images are created not by the subject itself, but by the photographer’s choices in composition, angle, lighting, and framing. Details are important!
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will follow along with instruction and use what we have learned to create amazing photos!
Students may NOT use the same shoe another student is using...be creative!
Choose your favorite shoe, a well-worn shoe, a colorful shoe, or a friend’s shoe, but it has to be a shoe.
Students CANNOT use the same shoe another student is using!
Take at least 25 DIFFERENT pictures of the same shoe.
Look for different angles and perspectives on the shoe.
GET CLOSE and get creative with the shoe! FILL YOUR FRAME!!!
Choose a well-lit area and make sure the background is not cluttered, which may cause a distraction from the shoe.
You will then put 15 of your best photos into a collage.
Your assignment is to shoot a shoe from 25 different angles, edit them either in a contrasty black and white or bright and colorful edit and be consistent with all your editing so all your pictures look the same.
For this assignment, you are going to demonstrate your ability to take pictures from many different angles of a shoe. Finding the unique details important to the shoe!
Remember to get close! Different perspectives is key!
Set your camera to M!
You are in control of ALL settings again!
M (Manual)
Set your ISO to 100! (Base ISO)
You will adjust this accordingly.
Remember, once you set your shutter speed and aperture, check the ISO to make sure the exposure meter is in the center!
SHUTTER SPEED: at least 1/125
This will help with blur. You must adjust the ISO and aperture!
Set your APERTURE!
Click the Right Cross Key
Lets change the Drive mode to
Single Shooting
This will help only take one photo at a time!!
Cross Keys are located BELOW the MENU button...
