WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Ghosts in Sunglasses!
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Working on fun photography projects is important because it fosters creativity, boosts motivation, and builds a stronger skill set through hands-on experimentation and a sense of purpose. These projects allow you to explore personal interests, develop a unique style, improve technical skills, and create a cohesive portfolio that is more fulfilling than simply taking isolated pictures.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will follow along with instruction and use what we have learned to create amazing photos!
Though we will be working in groups, you ALL should turn in DIFFERENT images!
For this assignment, you’ll be creating a series of funny, campy “ghost” photos. Your goal is to make your ghost characters come alive with personality, attitude, and a touch of 1980’s flair. The goal is to capture the essential elements of the image and draw the viewer's attention to those specific details.
These photos can be funny or scary.
Make sure you are in a shaded area or inside. (Ask permission before taking photos inside anywhere!)
These do not work in direct sunlight!
Have the person or people move in a couple of different positions as you take the photos.
Focus on composition, expression (through body language), and 1980s vibes.
Remember to be creative! Look for different places around campus!
This task will test your creativity!
Set your camera to M!
You are in control of ALL settings again!
M (Manual)
Set your ISO to 100! (Base ISO)
You will adjust this accordingly.
Set your SHUTTER SPEED to 1/125!
This will help with camera shake and is a fast enough shutter speed since our subjects are still!
Set your APERTURE to f/10!
This will give a wide/deep Depth of Field so most of the image should be in focus!
Click the Right Cross Key
Lets change the Drive mode to SINGLE SHOOTING
This means you click the button one shot at a time!
Add Press the Q button on the top left of the LCD screen
Auto Focus Area (top left AF button):
How much of your camera is able to see with your auto focus
Spot: only that little box will have it in focus. Good for Portraits.
Whole Area Auto Focus: Camera will determine what needs to be in focus.
Good for Landscapes
Take your time... Focus on one idea and take a few options/angles.
Don't rush!
ALL PHOTOS MUST BE DIFFERENT and IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS!
